I loved Peter Puck when I was a kid, hopefully he can attract younger fans to the TV broadcasts just like he did lo those many years ago.

I even had a Peter Puck book, hopefully it's still buried in some storage box at my Mom's house.

As long as Howie Meeker doesn't come back too I'm good with this. Peter Puck was kind of hokie, but it was a novel way to teach the finer points of the game to kids/new fans.

as old as dirt I'm afraid Jay. Look at this way, when I was 6 or 7 and getting into hockey, Jean Bealiveau was my first favorite player. I saw the Bobby Orr in his first televised NHL game. I even saw Jacques Plante, Daryl Sitler, Dave Keon, Eddie 'clear the track' Shack, Ron 'goalpost' Ellis, Yvan the roadrunner Cournoyer, Jacques Lemaire, Serge spineramma Savard, etc. play live. I'm so old I remember the first nhl expansion and thinking that would ruin the game by watering it down (but sure liked those flyers!)
