Nominate your fave athlete that do you think is deserving to be on this list of ESPN's top athletes, http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=whosnow/070611 , I think Randy Couture should at least be on that list, he's a UFC champ and a legend too! And Lance Armstrong has got to be #1 in there.

What no MMA on the list??? And Tiger Woods is in there... Who says that golf is a real sports? I agree Randy Couture should be nominated. He is one of very few athletes to win a championship after becoming a Hall of Fame member.Give the guy a credit for being a champ at age Forty something.

Hey Masterson. I have a strong hatred for ESPN. Any other source, I am open, but not that one.

It's like checking out the World Weekly News if you want information on politics. I just don't go there.

ESPN's list of top athletes just seems like a popularity contest only. They should put on the list some boxer like mayweather or maybe couture for mma atleast to make the list look more believable and not a funny one.imo

golf is definitely a sport...not one that many people can master..tiger belongs on there..michelle wie, not so much

Golf is definitly a sport... however, the people who play it aren't athletes because they are professionals. Sure, some may be good at other athletics, but they shouldn't be on that list because they are good at golf. If a guy like Phil Mickelson can be very good at a sport... that should tell you everything you need to know.

I think anyone who plays a sport is an Athlete, how much of one or how athletic they are should not matter...they still are and have whatever skill set is needed for that sport whether it requires extreme athletic ability or not.

Fat 1 inning bullpen pitchers are athletes cause they play baseball yet most any golfer out there could beat then in a 5K.

Yeah, i just don't consider them athletes. They are very good at what they do, but to me, that doesn't make them athletic. Anyone who can smoke while they are doing their sport doesn't count as an athlete to me.

But, even if I did give in and say they where, they certainly shouldnt' be among the top 50 when you have how many NBA and NFL players who should be ahead of them.
