The problem with this deal is strictly money. They overpaid them both... the Flyers got Briere for less than either of them. But these are two younger dudes, not the typical over the hill guys they usually sign.

But I too wonder how the hell they are going to get under the cap.

I'll tell you how they are going to get under the cap, they are going get rid of Jagr and send him to Columbus for cap space. Then send Straka and Lunquist to the Mexican hockey league for cap space.

$8.3 for Jagirl, $7.25 for Gomez, $7 for Drury... thats $22.50 mil a year on 3 players, which is 45% of the yearly cap space on THREE players. Hey Rag$, ask the Bolts how that works out.

But i'm guessing this means Shanahan won't be resigned along with Ozolinsh, and i'm hearing Nylander is going to Edmonton. That will clear some space for this year, but man i can't wait to see how they are going to work this. They better pray the cap keeps going up yearly.

It should hurt them cap wise but they went far last year so this is their chance at a run for the cup. You have to imagine that the organization knows what its doing to make the cap number work, then again this organization does not have such a smart past in that sense. Drury is nearly covered by the cap increase however so it may not be as horrible as I originally thought....I just hope its a nightmare for them.
