JR Hangs up his skates...
It appears Jeremy Roenick (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/player_bio.asp?player_id=604)'s days in the NHL as a player have come to an end.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the veteran centre is retiring from the game after 18 seasons. I'll probably take some heat for this, I usually do, but... Full Article

Not from me either! Huge JR fan. The guy was good, and enjoyed the game, and had fun. I agree with him that its probably time to retire, but I hope he doesn't stray too far from the game. The NHL needs a guy like him in the public eye. It sucks he couldn't get his 500th goal before he hung up the skates though.

Agreed. JR gave us some great times in Philly and in the other places that he ended up in. The man needs to be an ambassador for the sport...maybe he can bring some more fans to the game with his personality.

Can't argue with anything here, JR always gave his best for his team and he played hard for the USA as well.
