J.J. Putz - A.L. Cy Young?
J.J. putz is one of the most feared pitchers in baseball right now. It's not just his 96-98 mph heater, or the fact that he has 30 consecutive saves over the last 2 seasons. It probably also has something to do with his .079 era. And to me, an even more impressive stat is his BAA (That's Batting average against) is only .123!!! It's about time another closer gets the CY Young...

If he keeps this up through the rest of the season, it may be very hard to argue against him. Right now its gotta be between him and Haren. Putz's numbers are insane though.

He's on pace for 49 saves... if he gets 50, with a sub 1.00 era, i don't know how you don't give it to him.

If they gave out the award in July he would be a lock. If he holds up in August & September I can't see anyone else winning it.

I know there is still a long way to go this season. But Putz has been solid this year. Safeco gets fucking electric when he comes in. Mariners just need to play a little better on the road. 1 game back in the wild card, and 1.5 back on the Angels... Hargrove gone, now if they could just fire bavasi and deal sexson... Finally maybe a winning season again, and God willing at least one playoff series!

I read a quote the other day in one of the wife's "Star" magazine that made me love Miller even more. Something about her loving her booze, and that she and her wine are very close. A women after my own heart.
