KG to Boston???
Heres the trade according ot ESPN....
KG to Boston Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes and 2 future 1st round picks. With Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and KG the C's just became the top team in the East. (Thats still like 10th overall but its somethin) Just blows for the Sixers. |

Wow... Boston gave up their whole team except for Pierce and Allen.
Garnett, Pierce, Allen... all on the same team? Boston fans should be happy as shit, they are suddenly one of the best teams in the East. |

good trade for both teams....al jefferson, free money after the year with ratliff and a few draft picks...they weren't going anywhere this year anyway...might as well rebuild again and never be good

Just seems like a LOT to give up for one guy but like other said this makes Boston look damn good coming into this year 100% turn around from last year and gives Minnesota a chance to build a new team.

I am not sure how I feel about this trade. yes it makes the Celtics instant eastern contenders, but and this is a big but, it still leaves them short of what it takes to the championship. making the finals out of a weak conference is not enough. To complicate my feelings moe, five years from now when Garnett is out of the league, Al Jefferson will be a dominant force.
What this indicates to me is this; Ainge is admitting his plans up to now are an abject failure and he is trying to save both his job and legacy. |

Both of the future # 1's would be swapped? That would make more sense than getting all those players AND 2 #1's I think.

It definitly looks like a mortgage of the future to attempt to win now...and utter disaster I think if they don't make the finals in the next couple years. I don't however pretend to know much about the organization and their thoughts/plans.

I am not sure what they are thinking either, except that it is different than what they have been thinking for the last five years.

I guess anything is better than what they have been doing from what I hear and read. Not that I am happy about this being a Sixers fan...but they should contend and like I said they almost need to make the finals or win it (still as good as the best in the west to me) for this to not end in utter shambles for the organization as a whole.

The picks involved are Bostons future 1st rounder AND Minnesota getting their next season's 1st round pick, that they traded in the Wally-Ricky Davis trade BACK.
KG, Pierce and Allen VS the Spurs, Suns or Mavs? I really like Boston's chances. If they can all stay healthy. |

Health has to be a concern...I am interested to see how well those three mesh on a team. I don't think this makes them better than those in the West. Still any way I look at this I hate being a sixers fan!

what ainge was building wasn't working...probably cause the players he was drafting stunk...sorry but west, rajon rondo, etc...not gonna cut it...you have to make this deal...you have a top 50 all time player now playing with 2 all-stars...instantly they are a top 3 east team...if they can make a few moves bringing in role players..they have a shot this year at a title
