UEFA Champions League 2007-08
The draw for the 3rd Qualifying round has been made with some interesting match ups. Of course this is the stage when some of the bigger clubs enter the competition. Specifically Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic all start their European campaign in this round. Manchester United and chelscum will start the competition in the group stage which follows the 3rd qualifying round. Winners in the 3rd qualifying round will also enter the group stage. Each match up is a two legged affair.
The Draw: FH Hafnarfjordur or BATE Borisov v Zaglebie Lubin or Steaua Bucharest Tampere United or Levski Sofia v Astana or Rosenborg Spartak Moscow v Celtic Werder Bremen v NK Domzale or Dinamo Zagreb FK Ventspils or FC Salzburg v Pyunik or Shakhtar Donetsk Ajax v MSK Zilina or SK Slavia Prague Valencia v Debreceni or IF Elfsborg Genk or FK Sarajevo v Dynamo Kiev Fenerbahce v Anderlecht Rangers or FK Zeta v FK Crvena Zvezda or Levadia Tallinn Toulouse v LIVERPOOL Benfica v FC Copenhagen or Beitar Jerusalem Lazio v Dinamo Bucharest Sparta Prague v ARSENAL FC Zurich v Sheriff or Besiktas Sevilla v AEK Athens Liverpool face a French side, Toulouse. Don't know much about them other than from what I have read Toulouse is considered a rugby town. Arsenal play Sparta Prague from the Czecho League. Arsenal have faced them 4 times in the last 6 years so we should be familiar with them. The matches will be played on August 14 and 15 and August 28 and 29. C'MON YOU GUNNERS!!!
