49ers: 2-0 but unhappy

Sure I am glad that the niners are 2-0, anyone would be as a fan of a team, but I am not at all happy with the play calling of the coaches at all. The Rams completely deserved to win that game, in all aspects. I thought that I was watching Steve Mariucci's play calling from the late 90's. Talk about conservative.

It seems to me that Nolan has a problem or does not trust Alex Smith and his abilities to throw the ball, maybe it is something to do with his trust in his receivers, but it will show next week in Pittsburgh

I agree, coming in this year the niners had what appeared to be great offensive potential coupled with a vastly improved defensive front, not only are the conservative play calls ending in some really close games that could've gone either way, they are also killing my fantasy squad.....

Hopefully nolan can get over his issues whatever they may be, although if he wins another game or two like this, i'm sure he'll be hard pressed to change the calling.

If you're winning its hard to bring about change but with Gore, Davis and DJax how you aren't looking to get the O acclimated more to a full potent offense is beyond me..especially with an improved D to support it.

Unhappy sorta...

I have to say i hate how Vernon Davis doesn't get the touches. Hes an amazing athlete and he needs the ball. But CMON ur talking about a third year quarterback who still inst completely confident and whose best receiver is Darrel Jackson, a receiver who was second in the league in drops last year, and you have to think that Vernon just inst getting open because I highly doubt their not trying to get him the ball as much as possible. But heres where u piss me off, the rams deserved to loose that game, Steven Jackson couldn't block a cripple, and their line couldn't hold the line. The 49ers had like 8 in the bock every play and throughout the entire game put massive amounts of pressure on a good quarterback Marc Bulger who looked terrible. The 49ers deserved that game so you

Just to add...V Davis is getting open and is unhappy with how little he is being utilized in the O. On Monday he met with the Nolan to discuss it on their day off.

Carry on boys...it could be a long time till Mike responds..if ever...we need more popcorn and beer I think

Wont be that long. Sure Davis is a great athlete but I don't blame Smith for not getting him the ball or the plays that they called towards the end of the 4th quarter. All those calls were on the coaching staff, that is what I have the problem with

They need to give Smith and Co a chance!

So let me now rejuvenate this thread and just express how pissed off I am at the niners. You can only be in a rebuilding period for a couple of years, not 8! They are, to simply put it, pathetic, a sorry excuse for a football team. I cannot believe that they actually have won 2 games this season and honestly I don't think I will watch anymore games this season

What a fricken bummer!

I was in San Francisco last week during the game. I was listening to the local sports radio with the fans calling in, they hate them some Nolan. It was hilarious.

OMFG I am just completely ashamed of the 49ers. They are by far the WORST team in the league this season. They loose to the Falcons? I mean GMAFB. Alex Smith is not improving at all, he is regressing backwards > 3 Int's

I am ashamed to say that I am a niner fan this day, I am not even sure if I will watch anymore games this year
