NFL Offseason Thread

offense first

here is a list of free agents after the season is up

ttp://www.draftdaddy.com/nfldraft/freeagentoffense.cfm

this is easier than posting all the names..it would take forever

lots of good free agents this year..here are my top guys for each position in no particular order and where i think they might end up

Qbs

not deep at all

1. Derek Anderson - destination: will remain in Cleveland

2. Culpepper - running out of places to play. destination: baltimore, k.c., bears

RBs

1. Michael Turner - top FA in a pretty solid class...only a few true #1's out there but lots of guys that'll add depth to a bunch of teams. destination: Cleveland, Houston, Oakland, Denver

2. Justin Fargas - showed he can be a #1 guy. destination: Oakland, Houston, Chicago

3. Julius Jones - i have at 3 only because barber is RFA. destinations: Houston, Denver, Oakland

4. Marion Barber - as stinks knows, i really like this guy. destination: Cowboys

5. Derrick Ward - showed flashes of brilliance that should land him some nice change somewhere, not necessarily as a starter though. destination: Houston, Dallas, 49ers

5a. Jamal Lewis - had a really good season. destination: Cleveland

WRs

1. Randy Moss - destination: Cunt

2. Bernard Berrian - top receiver left. destination: Jets, Baltimore, Houston, Chicago, Buffalo, Miami, Tennessee...you get the picture

3. Bryant Johnson - stuck behind Fitzgerald and Boldin. destination: see above

4. Andre Davis - anyone else think returning 2 kickoffs in the last week of the season made him money?? destination: anyone looking to upgrade special teams

5. Jerry Porter - where have ya gone?? destination: not oakland!

TEs

1. Dallas Clark - destination: Indy..who cares about the rest
2. L.J. Smith
3. Ben Utecht
4. Ben Troupe
5. Bo Scaife

OL

a ton of money will go to these guys...pretty deep class of FA's

1. Alan Faneca
2. Jordan Gross
3. Ryan Lilja
4. Jake Scott
5. Stacy Andrews
6. Jeff Faine
7. Jeremy Newberry
8. Flozell Adams
9. Dave Stewart

i'll post my jets wishes/thoughts below

j-e-t-s jets jets jets..we are in deep trouble...i know i'm the only fan here..but here's my realistic thoughts about FA and the draft...i need to post this first so everyone can see this

according to si..this is the cap room for each team

SI.com - Writers - Monday Morning QB (cont.) - Monday December 10, 2007 11:29AM

the jets have about 27/28 million to spend

FA Signings

Offense:

Alan Faneca LG from the Steelers
Stacy Andrews RG/RT from the Bengals

Defense:

Lance Briggs - OLB from the Bears
Corey Willisams - DT from the Packers
Randall Gay - CB from the Pats

Trades

Chad Pennington - have to move him...he's got a 7.8 million dollar cap hit next year...try and get a 4th rounder for him

Jonathan Vilma - i move him if we can get a 1st round pick or trade him for Chad Johnson or Roy Williams...please don't get in a huff yet about ocho cinco...the bengals might move him to be done with him and CJ might wanna get out now..plus the bengals have no MLB and everyone they drafted hasn't worked out. they would get a legit pro bowl MLB and we'd get a true #1

Players Cut

David Barrett - worst cb in the league and he makes 3 mil a year

Andre Dyson - didn't work out and we need to get younger

Justin McCareins - i physically get ill when i see him on the field

Restructures

Dwayne Robertson - we paid him way to much coming out of the draft...he's a 4-3 DT playing in the 3-4

Draft

lots of ways to go...but overall they need to draft a 3-4 NT, a DE, and OLB and an OL.

i'll leave this for the draft thread but some guys i like

James Hardy - WR Indiana 6'7 and projected middle to late 1st round

Quentin Groves - DE/OLB Georgia middle 1st round

Own Schmitt - FB West Virginia best true FB in the draft...4th to 7th round projection

Marrio Urrutia - WR UL big receiver that never lived up to full potential. Anywhere from 2nd to 6th

Joe Flacco - QB Delaware - 3rd round projection

Awesome again Sigs... your offseason NFL stuff always rocks.

Washington negative $20mil in cap room? Yuck. There's gotta be more to it than that.

Its not gonna die. I'm guessing the "Offseason" thread will be more active once the offseason starts. This thread will be active when signings and moves start.

Same here...not today...I don't think a single post I made today has made sense thus far. I'd prolly have insanely idiotic thoughts about free agency...

i think we all do cause we try to sign every fa out there disregarding salary cap space, if they fit in the system, etc...
