Embarrassed by Dallas Mavericks Mascot Champ the Horse
I am not one to complain much about anything in life; you take what life throws at you and drive on. I have never been one to be offended in anyway and things like what I am about to write about have never bothered me, but last night I was completely embarrassed by one of the Dallas Mavericks two...

I'd call and bitch. You will probably get free tickets out of it. I'm not one to get bothered by much, i take it all the time from people, its fun. But there is only so much one can take. Getting the crowd riled up at your expense is fun and all, but there is a limit. It should never get to the point where you can't enjoy the game because of the mascot. It sounds like he didn't leave you alone all night.

If it bothered you and still does, then call and say something...if nothing else maybe you'll get hooked up or at least prevent it from happening again with the complaint. I realize that the mascots are there for fun and to get the crowd into it and take shots at opposing teams fans but it does seem like he/she really stepped over the line and continuously did so.
Maybe he/she didn't realize it was affecting you as much as it was, maybe you should have spoke up earlier to security or someone above the security guard, either way I would think that the mascot would have realized that you were getting more and more unhappy about the events and should have stopped and moved on. I probably would have hit the damn mascot especially if i was knockin back 30 dollar beers all night. |

I would complain. It's one thing to play along, but to draw that sort of attention to your wife would piss me off. Second if the guards kept telling him not to do that, he shouldnt. I agree with the limit, everyone likes to give the opposing fans a hard time, but there is a line that shouldnt be crossed.

Thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure that I was not overreacting. My Wife says I am and that I should just drop it. Part of me just says to drop it, but wtf!!! I am going to call the Mavs front office this morning and even email Mark Cuban

Thats a good point... if the security guard had to tell the mascot not to do something, you know it was over the line. Did you by any chance get the security guards name? If so, i'd use it when calling them... tell them their own guard had to try to stop their mascot. And tell them you own a sports site and this could end up very bad for them.
They don't need to know only 4 people read here. lol |

Its hard for us to know whether or not you are really overracting or even underracting in reality other than what we read. Like I said I would have probably reacted more at the game with security or other Mavs officials as it continued or hit the guy (which would have ended badly for me I think).
Fly me down mike..I'll represent you and the rant to Cuban and company, lol ![]() |

I would complain for sure. If it had stopped at half time,no. But the 2nd half antics were too much.

Mike you are completely within reason to be upset. As the others have stated, there is a limit and it sounds like this jackass went waaay beyond it.

LOL
Not so much. For some unknown reason, I have very little tolerance for mascots. It may have started with rowdy, the Cowboys mascot. He is a freaking TOOL. The local radio station have even gone so far as to dub him 'Asswhip' and there is a website dedicated to getting him off of the Cowboys -- removerowdy.com No. I am on board with Mike on this one. |
