NICKinDALLAS will become famous soon enoughNICKinDALLAS will become famous soon enough
My therapists thinks that this will help

Waaay back, I dunno, 4 or 5 weeks ago, I said in one of my posts that I did not want to face the giants for a third time. Not because I was afraid of them as a team but because of the law of averages. So almost as if I 'Jays-cursed' myself, voila, giants stroll into town.
Now between thoses 4 or 5 weeks and gametime I had done a complete 180. ON PAPER Dallas was/is the clearly better team. If not for the injuries that the giants had suffered alone. But, as Chris Berman says "That's why they play the game." People were talking all sorts of craziness like the giants were going to come to Dallas and blow the Cowboys out of the water. Nonsense!

Gametime:
Missed the noon game to spend time with the kiddos as come 3:30 I would be in my own world, accessible to no one. 3:15 - plop down in the chair to catch a little pregame and hear Jimmy Johnson telling everyone how green bay is playing better than the Cowboys right now. //roll eyes
Just before kickoff - Say to the wife (who, by the way, loves football too) 'I hope we're kicking off.' just as Joe Buck informs me that Dallas will be. //fist pump
First drive:
Dallas gets called for a very shaky offsides that extends the drive. Keep thinking that we will stop them and force a punt. Red zone. "Hold them to a field goal!" Touchdown. //dammit
I am of the opinion that it is better to get the ball in the 2nd half as that is when things should be clicking for the team. All the defense has to do is make a stop. So when a team like the giants takes the opening drive and scores, well, that sucks.
Second quarter:
Cowboys go on a 10+ min drive to all but wrap up the 1st half and take the lead. //fist pump
Actually said to the wife 'Great! Now the defense just doesn't need to do anything stupid and we are in great shape'. Wife agrees. Touchdown. //dammit

That right there should have told me everything that I needed to know about how that game would turn out, but no. I kept watching and waiting for Romo to become the Jedi that he has been time and time again for this team and save me from this hell. Romo, Romo, where for art thou Romo? Prolly taking a lot of frustration out on one very hot (albeit not so bright) blonde right about now. Meanwhile, my hell persists.

Cowboys are the better team. I truly believe that. I think that without his last name eli would be a fairly average qb. With the injuries that they had, the Cowboys SHOULD have made short work of the giants. However, the stars alligned just right, beers' sacrifice to the dark lord was accepted, and the giants got their win. And now it's on to green bay where the packers will do exactly like the Cowboys SHOULD have done and dispatch the giants with great ease. //dammit

You don't need a therapist.
Just think about how you dealt with the Dallas Stars and Mavs one and done exits and apply those same principles to the Cowboys one and done playoffs.

Great read. Nick I hope you are doing better than you have been.

I'm a little concerned how you know about my sacrificing ceremonies.

I absolutely believe that the Cowgirls are a better team than the Gnats...they just weren't on Gameday by any means. However the troubles they started having towards season end carried into the playoffs. I honestly believe they were over confident and in some ways cocky to the idea that they'd lose any playoff game and would be in the big dance soon enough.

I feel your pain Nick... its no fun having a team who is really really good and then not win it all. Hell, if I know anything at all, its the pain of not having a favorite team win the championship. In fact, I have no idea what it feels like to have a loved team become champions.

Let us know if posting that helped.

Sig - you have the Yankees. I don't wanna hear about losing from you. ZERO total wins since i've watched sports from the Flyers or Raiders.

And two of your biggest chances being ruined by Tampa teams.
That is rough.

Tell me about it. There is no question in my mind that the Flyers would have beaten the Flames in the Cup finals. That game 7 was for the Stanley Cup win and we came up 1 damn goal short. And man, was that Raiders/Buccs game painful. Any other team and we beat them and Jay is a happy happy boy. But NOOOO, we get the one coach who knows exactly how to beat the Raiders because he BUILT the effin team.

Oh thats a parade I won't be missing!!! I've told my boss many times that there is no chance I'm coming to work that day. Maybe he wasn't overly concerned cuz its the Flyers, but still... the seed was planted.
