Former BC, Patriots coach Holovak dies at age 88

Michael Holovak, an All-America football player at Boston College, head football coach for both Boston College and the Boston Patriots and a longtime NFL executive with the Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans, died Sunday in Ruskin, Fla. He was 88.

I know of him but his time with the Patriots was to long ago for me to remember.

I'm guessing the "Boston Patriots" was what the NE Pats used to be called? I don't remember that at all.

Yep.Had to look it up though
The owners changed the name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating the team to Foxborough in 1971.

I remember something about that from all the Devils trolls on the ESPN boards back in the day when they would show their superior hockey knowledge.

The original name change was to be the Bay State Patriots, but instead became New England.

Sounds to much like the SF area. I'm glad they used New England.Good for the surrounding little states that are so close to that area too.
