Ed Force One

For anyone that cares (anyone? anyone? Bueller?), Iron Maiden will be launching a World Tour soon and lead singer Bruce Dickenson is a licenced pilot and will be flying their plane. They gave thier fans the chance to name the plane and it seems that the best that they could come up with was Ed Force One. Lame name of the plane aside, the rig looks pretty cool and the show should be extra sick! Ssigs, they will be at the Izod Center on March 18. See if you can score us tickets, huh?

So a rock star is going to be flying their tour plane? That can't be a good idea...I feel bad for anyone in their flight path.

I don't work any more. I created enough ongoing income so that I don't have to. I have my pilot's license, but I am not actively flying. I decided I liked sitting in the back of a plane sipping on cocktails while someone else flew me around, more than actually flying.

Just rush the cockpit on your next flight and ask nicely, I hear that usually ends well.

I guess about 20,000 ppl as the show is sold out!

Don't be confused, 80's metal was/is big business. A few years back the glam group Poison realized that if they would play their hits and not try and shove new stuff into the set, then they could still sell tickets. Every summer they would sell out shows (or come close) across the country. Motley Crue followed suit last year and sold out damn near every show, Van Halen this year and now Iron Maiden. Ozzfest continues to draw well and just wait for Metallica (who haven't put out a decent cd in years) to hit the road.

These shows may be a lot of things:
Cheesy
Frightening (as in the state of our nation)
Loud
Comical
Abhorant
Rude
Violent
Funny

but never, not for a split second, will they be boring!

The people watching alone will be worth the price of admission!!!
