Oakland Raiders 2008
Okay, this will be more a thread for me since no one else cares about the Raiders. But with Sigs and Beers talking all their football stuff, its getting me excited for this year for the Raiders. Its a way for me to track the Raiders roster, transactions and draft picks... sort of like my own blog.
Feel free to comment... but if you don't care about them, please stay out of the thread. Pretty simple. Transactions- Resigned Justin Fargas to 1 year contract. Franchised Nnamdi Asomugha. Resigned Tommy Kelly to 7 year contract. Signed UFA Gibril Wilson to 6 year contract. Released Barry Sims Lost Jerry Porter UFA to the Jaguars Lost Chris Clemens UFA to the Eagles |

they lost out on berrian who they wanted pretty bad so its possible bryant johnson is the next target of there's
who do they draft 4th? if the top three taken are matt ryan, c. long and j. long..do they go mcfadden, a position that isn't the most pressing or do they grab a vernon gholston or one of the DT's?? |

It looks like Bryant Johnson may sign with the Bills today. After that, i guess it would be guys like Hackett, Walker, Gaffney, Lloyd, McCarrins. Still lots of UFA's out there, but no one to get excited about.
IMO, they draft Ellis or Dorsey. They need a DT to replace Sapp and their run defense sucked ass last year. I dont' think they want to spend the big money on McFadden after giving all that money to Russell... and really, our RB's if Bush is healthy should be pretty good again. |

i agree...but al davis is a different kind of breed...if no trades occur and they pass on mcfadden, he falls to at least 6
i truly believe right now the draft goes like this c. long choice a: j. long...choice b: v. gholston m. ryan choice a: g. dorsey choice b: v. gholston choice a: j. long choice b: g. dorsey choice c: v. gholston confusing??? |

Not confusing other that we have no clue who is going to take who.
The Raiders could use a DE with Brayton being a UFA as well. But their biggest need would be J. Long on the O-line (just released Barry Simms) or Ellis on the d-line i think. |

no de's are worth the 4 pick except c. long....after that you have guys in the mid to late 1st round who are more hybrid guys de/olb in quentin groves and derrick harvey
