They may be tied with Oklahoma for second in the AP poll, but the BCS still isn't giving them any love so far. Oklahoma will probably have to lose a game in order for Auburn to move into second in the BCS standings.

I believe it should be Oklahoma vs Auburn in the championship if they both win out and win their conference championships the SEC and Big 12 are 100 times better then the PAC 10

USC is the defending champion and they're still #1. Until they lose a game or get knocked off, they'll stay #1 and I won't be able to agree with you on that. I'd say that Auburn shoudl be #2 because the SEC is incredibly tough, while only half the Big XII is any good.

Don't listen to the talking heads. Maybe 3 teams in the SEC are tough. The rest of the conference is just OK, like the big12 North. |

The Big XII North isn't just okay though... We suck compared to the Big XII South. You're right, not all of the SEC is "tough." What I probably meant to say is that the majority of the SEC is far more competitive against the other teams - they always compete, and games are close - than the teams in the Big XII. There's no question between North and South in the Big XII. Just about every time they've played, the South has come out on top by a wide margin.

But I don't think ANY of the Big 12 teams, played teams like Div 1AA Citadel or LA Monroe!! Jesus! Auburn dropped Bowling Green so they could play the Citadel...

Nebraska played a 1-AA team to start their season. I think that would count.

#4 California's the one to watch to determine the strength of the PAC-10. USC leads, and beat Michigan last year in the Rose Bowl. Anyone who thinks the blood&gore Big-10[11] isn't tough is delusional. Only one year has passed, and they're still unbeaten. USC is therefore very, very good....but is it the PAC-1-and-9, is the issue. Cal will face someone strong. #4 ranking, barring any loss at season end (is the season over for them? Not sure...), will insure that. If Cal were to lose badly to another major power, then there's a legitimate claim to the PAC being weaker...but still no right to say USC wouldn't be an exception.
In the end, there are two PAC-10 teams right now in the top four, on both polls. What does that mean. |
