My Fantasy B-Ball Team!!!!!

G: Stephon Marbury*
G: Jalen Rose
G: Tracy McGrady*
F: Paul Pierce*
F: Juwan Howard
F: Dirk Nowitzki*
C: Tim Duncan*
C: Ben Wallace*

Bench

G: Eric Snow
G: Tony Parker
F: Tim Thomas

IL: Grant Hill

All the players with a (*) next to their name are All-Stars!!! My bench is a little weak, but I think I'll get by with them. The way Parker has been playing, he could be a starter for some teams. Snow is solid in everything except for 3's, the only reason I'd drop him is if he gets traded and it hurts his stats. Tim Thomas has picked up his game as of late, but so has Darius Miles, but with all the ball-hogs in Cleveland, I'd say Thomas is the safer bet, so I'll stick with him for now. Hill may not return this season, but he's not hurting me on my IL, so it's an added bonus if he does return!

Hey, if you guys got a good team, get on here and brag about them!!! I think I have an awesome team, but maybe one of you guys has a better one??? One way or another, we need feedback on here to keep the Fantasy Forum alive!!!!!

I'm currently in 4th in my league. I'm 25.5 games out of first. Pretty much been that way all season. I think it's a pretty solid team *shrug*. I thought the backcourt was superb but I suppose I'm wrong. I despise pro basketball and I started this league to spark interest. I lost interest pretty quick. What do you think of my team?

Crash, I have two questions: how many teams are in your league and did any of them draft? Good lord your team is stacked.

Duncan, Nowitzki, Pierce and McGrady are all first rounders and Wallace is an early second. I'm assuming you're in first place. I'd like to know how you pulled that off.

I have Parker on my team too and it's nice to see he's finally pulling his head out, I just don't trust him. I feel a slump coming on.

I play in a 10 team, head to head league. I'm in first place and I'm beginning to pull away. My roster isn't anywhere near as impressive as yours but it's pretty good:

G- Steve Francis
G- Jason Terry
F- Paul Pierce
F- Antawn Jamison
C- Brad Miller
F- Shareef Abdur-Rahim
F- Richard Jefferson
F- Andrei Kirilenko
F- Desmond Mason
G- Tony Parker

I also have Pat Garrity and Nene Hilario, but I rotate those guys with the likes of Nesterovic, Joe Johnson, JR Bremer or whoever has a game that night.

Arkham-You do have a great backcourt, but are weak at center. If I were you, try using Houston or another guard to get you a better center than Camby.

PeteK-There are 10 teams in my league and Duncan & Marbury are the only two players I have left that I drafted. If you go to the NBA board, I started a thread titled, "Check out this b-ball lineup." I kind of made this my journal for all my big transactions and stuff, I even posted some other rosters in my league on there, but of course they've changed since then, if you'd like an update on what they look like now, I'd be happy to post it. Anyway, I'm actually not in first as of right now. In fact, I've just recently put this team together (T-Mac, Howard, Parker, Thomas, & Hill haven't played 1 game for me). I got off to a horrible start, climbed up into first, and after 3 weeks of bad luck (2 in a row & 1 against the current #1 team), I'm now in second. My league is a little different than most, but I'll try to explain it. It is a weekly head-to-head with daily lineup changes, but instead of your traditional fantasy scoring, it goes like this. Our league stats go by 9 categories (FGM, FTM, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, & TO). In a normal league, you either get a win, loss, or tie. But, in mine, you can win 8-1, 5-4, or 6-2-1. So, you have to be good all across the board to win in my league because you have to be able to beat your opponent in every category. And the stats aren't averaged, they are totaled, so if you have less players playing in a week compared to your opponent, you are already in the hole. That's what's been happening to me. This week, I had 17 players playing and my opponent (the 1st place team) had 22 players going. I figured I'd get shut out, or lose 1-8 at the best, but I ended up losing 4-5. So, I should end up winning it all. Looking at your roster, there really isn't a weakness. You could use a better center, but you've got such great depth, it doesn't really matter. Here's a look at what I started with, then I'll show you who all I traded away to get who I have now.

Original Lineup

G: Stephon Marbury
G: Steve Francis
G: Michael Jordan
F: Pau Gasol
F: Chris Webber
F: Jamal Mashburn
C: Tim Duncan
C: Antonio Davis

Bench

G: Jay Williams
G: Jamaal Tinsley
C: Zeljko Rebraca

Traded Away:

G Troy Hudson
F/C Clifford Robinson
G Mike Bibby
F Chris Webber
F/C Antonio Davis
F Antonio McDyess
G/F Jamal Mashburn
G/F Jason Richardson
G/F Latrell Spreewell
F/C Elton Brand
F Rasheed Wallace
G Steve Francis
G/F Rashard Lewis
F Donyell Marshall
G Kerry Kittles
F/C Brian Grant
G Cuttino Mobley
F/C Jermaine O'Neal
F Pau Gasol
G/F Michael Jordan
G Jay Williams

For:

F/C Juwan Howard
G/F Tracy McGrady
G/F Jalen Rose
F/C Ben Wallace
F/C Dirk Nowitzki
G/F Paul Pierce

As you can see, I've come a long way. But, I haven't been screwing people over. Of those 21 players I've traded away, only 1 is currently a free agent in my league. Some of them on the traded away list I traded, got back, then traded again. Eric Snow, Parker, Thomas, & Hill were all free agent pickups. There you have it. Anybody else want to do some bragging?????

My bench may not be that weak afterall!!! Snow is giving me everything I can ask of him, Parker is playing great, and Thomas is finally playing up to his potential!!!!! Pierce's groin is scaring me a little, so it's great to have a bench I can be confident in!

Well, Snow has kept up his decent play, but I'm starting to see why Parker and Thomas were free agents so long. Both had terrible games last night, but I'm sticking with them. They aren't great, but they're better than any free agent available. I am, though, trying to trade Thomas for Caron Butler. They are pretty equal, but Butler is a little better in a few categories. Anyone think I shouldn't try to do this deal???

Another solid night for Snow! But, I'm losing more and more faith in Thomas. My trade for Butler didn't happen, but with Drew Gooden being traded to Orlando, I'm very interested in him. Does anyone know if he'll be starting for the Magic??? From what I've read, it sounds like he might, but I don't know for sure. If he does, he could be of some value, if not, I'm just as well keeping Thomas.

Man, Parker pisses me off. But I do believe he will have more good nights than bad ones so I'll stick with him. Crash, how's the team doing in the standings? Have you taken first yet?

Just a few games back now. Won 8-1 last week and expect to do the same this week, while the #1 team won 5-4 last week and might lose this week. Hey, are you interested in joining my baseball league, I had one change his mind, so I'd like you to fill in, Pete!

Oh, and I got Gooden before it was too late. As it turned out, another owner did want him, I kinda pissed him off getting him, oh well.

Crash, thanks for the invite, but I gotta decline. I'm not a big baseball fan and I know nothing about the players. Every league needs a doormat, but I don't like being that guy. Thanks though.

The best part about Gooden is he'll get a ton of minutes at first and if he plays well he'll keep getting them. Good pick up. That's the difference between first place and second.

You know what Crash, I talked myself into it. Fantasy baseball might be fun and for once I'll actually look forward to baseball highlights on Sportscenter. If the spot is still open I'll take it. I'll PM you with my email.

I'm starting to see the downside of having 2 players on a good team. Both Tim Duncan and Tony Parker play for the Spurs. Unfortunately, the Spurs have been beating up on their opponents so badly, they have to call off the dogs by the 4th quarter and I end up losing a quarter's worth of stats for both players!
