Pats get the easiest schedule this year. It really sucks that they are going to be good once again.

wow, interesting picks for the 5 national games. 3 teams who'd be lucky to go 8-8.

For those that question whether or not the NFL is biased toward the Pats (and it is) I submit the following for your approval:
On it's face, the Pats' schedule does look a little rough; four trips to the West Coast, week 4 as a bye, only 1 home game in December, 5 night games, and a Thursday night game against the Jets. Funny how the Pats’ schedule is so “arduous” the same season that the AFC East plays the powerhouse AFC and NFC West divisions. Oh, and by the way, based on last years’ records, the Pats have the easiest schedule in the ENTIRE league. Their opponents’ winning percentage of .387 is a real backbreaker, huh? Yeah, not biased at all. Starting the season with KC, NYJ, Miami, then the bye doesn't sound too tough to me. Ending the season with Oakland, Arizona, and Buffalo doesn't sound too tough either. If the NFL determines when games will take place, it seems they have given the Pats a likely chance of getting a fast start and a strong finish. Must be nice. The schedules are already set with 2 TBD games left based on where a team finishes.
Each team plays 6 division games, 4 games against a different Divsion in their conference 4 games against a Division in the other conference and the last 2 games are the 2 teams in their conference that finished in the same spot they did. Example in 06 the Eagles played 6 Division, 4 vs NFC South, 4 vs AFC South, other 2 San Fran and Green Bay (in 05 the Eagles finished in 4th place in the NFC East they played the 4th place teams in the NFC West and North) The Eagles finished in 1st place in the NFC East in 07 Eagles played 6 Division, 4 vs NFC North, 4 vs AFC East, other 2 games were Seahawks and Saints (both teams finished in 1st place in their division in 2006. ) Eagles finished in 4th in NFC EAST in 08 Eagles play 6 division 4 vs NFC West, 4 vs AFC North, other 2 games are vs Falcons and Chicago both finished in 4th in 2007 in 09 Eagles play 6 division, 4 vs NFC South, 4 vs AFC West, other 2 games based on finish probably 2nd place teams in NFC West and North in 10 Eagles play 6 division 4 vs NFC North, 4 vs AFC South, other 2 games based on finish of 2009. There it is, really not that hard to figure out. So the Pats just got the good draw because 1) the AFC East is weak, 2) the NFC West was weak, 3) AFC West was weak. Also the win % is based on the teams record is skewed because Miami, Jets, Oakland KC, San Fran, St Louis were 1-15, 4-12, 4-12, 4-12, 5-11, 3-13 thats 21-75 there is HALF of the Pats games right there. 4 of the remaing 8 are against playoff teams which is the absolute minimum. |
