Wow!!

That is a surprise. Dude had three years, a couple upsets on both sides of the coin, but two bowl bids. Did they expect him to win the NC already?

Kind of surprising, but he won't be out of a job for long. Great coach and a class guy.

This is very surprising to me. I just found out. I think that the bad performance following a great start (8-0 his first year) really killed him. Good Luck to him wherever he goes though. I really hope there isnt another playbook change (went from option to west coast when Ty came in).

Urban Meyer from Utah is the most likely candidate. He has been a great offensive coach.

This is the state of sports nowadays. If you don't win, big and early, at top tier programs you lose your job.

Can't say I agree with you on this one, OB. Zook was let go for pretty much similar circumstances. How 'bout Crowton at BYU? Or Cutcliffe at Ole Miss? He graduates putz-boy Eli and is gone the next year.

The race card is too easily played nowadays.

Willingham was let go to early and too easily, but not because of his color.

ALL the other coaches at ND, before him, got atleast 5 years to see if they could win. Seems to me they got rid of him because they covet Urban Myer. Along with the race card!!!

Well actually that is not true, the one guy that lied was only there for a few weeks, a month tops!! It is a shame, I heard the guy on ESPN radio, he had some great plans for the future and that is out now! KP is right, big schools want a turn around NOW, and they did not get it

Yeah, Urban Meyer had a special clause in his contract JUST so he could go to ND without being penalized or anything like that, so hards are he'll be the next coach.

Utah had a top QB recruit decommit because Meyer couldn't give him a straight answer as to whether or not he'll be the Utah coach.

Meyer will be introduced as ND's HC within a week of Utah winning the Fiesta Bowl.

I told you that it was going to happen,but I at least thought the dirtbags would at least allow him to complete his five year contract or least give him one year,how is that for integrity from such a fine upstanding Christian University. It's difficult to understand how they allow a white coach such as Davies who was a fraud of a coach and who didn't do half as good as what Willingham did,complete his contractual agreement,but fired Willingham after only three years.Hell maybe he did complete his five year deal and I just forgot how to count to five.
