Gary Barnett Named AP Big XII Coach of the Year
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1935217
I, personally, feel this is a well-deserved award for Barnett. Sure, it doesn't mean much right now with the Big XII title game looming, but it is fairly important to Barnett, the CU players, and CU fans. He helped lead this team through its toughest off-season ever, and perhaps one of the toughest regular seasons in program history as well. Barnett kept this team together in the face of the university president and the regents and everybody else who wanted him to be kicked out of town. Now, the Buffaloes are 7-4 and in the Big XII Championship Game. Congrats, Gary. |

I heard that Stoops was whining, again, about how he should have been considered for the award.
Shut up, Bob! You're quickly becoming a boor. You're a great coach and a great recruiter. And all you really have to do is beat one or two teams a year. Rice, Tulsa, Bowling Green....all great opponents. |

I'm sure he was considered, along with the other 11 coaches in the conference. Overall, however, the only two men who really deserved the award were either Gary Barnett or Iowa State's coach (who was named coach of the year bu the Big XII coaches themselves).
Iowa State was in the running for the Noth title until the end, and, let's face it, they probably should have won it. Barnett was suspended for three months this year, came back in the face of controvery, and managed to lead CU to a 7-win season and a bowl berth. Stoops has a chance to play in the national championship game with an undefeated team ranked #2 in the nation. He has no room to complain about anything. |

Listen up,with Oklahoma and Texas continuing to win as usual coupled with the down year at NU and the North division being a piece of shit this year,it was an award won by default, who the hell else were they going to give it to,regardless of how much you might want to sing the praises of Barnett,it's an award with an asterick next to it,period.

BTW, can you tell me the last time OU played Rice or Tulsa??? I thought so....Idiot!!!!! You my friend are becoming a BOOR, implying bullshit about other people... Stoops has been national coach of the year Twice in 5 years, why should he worry about a little Big 12 award given by the AP and BTW McCarny won the award given by the Big 12 conference. |

So if CU wins then what? off to the BCS.
Did everyone expect OU to do what they did this year? Did everyone expect CU to do what they did this year? They finished 7-4 lost to Texas, Texas A&M, OK State and Missouri. OK State was undefeated when they played them, then went on to lose 4 of 6 to ranked opponents such as OK, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech. other than the Missouri loss not a bad season at all. He deserves it with no * like that POS RA said. |

The asterick stays, whether or not you agree because any little improvement in a programs season over the previous season will get that programs coach the award, especially when the rest of that teams division sucks as the Big XII North did this year.Evident of that that fact is that had either Iowa State or Missouri won the North division,Barnett wouldn't have gotten the award. But given the fact that ISU choked away it's last couple games and those few little victories that you raddled off for Colorado would have been a mute point.Based on that and the fact that the Big XII committee is not going to continue giving the award either Stoops or Brown because their teams continue to do the same thing year after year and that's win games. Thus, whoever was lucky enough to win the North division of the Big XII would have been given the award"By Default" for lack of any other viable candidate outside of Stoops or Brown.Case closed,so try another idiotic analysis because that one didn't fly.

That doesn't mean shit, because the AP's opinion and/or thoughts are about as worthless as you are as a human and we all know how low that rates in the scheme of sports or everyday life because once a sewer rat, always a sewer rat and nothing either of you say, matters much and the general population discards your opinions or thoughts as nothing more than the ravings of idiots,a class in which you fit perfectly.
