Jose "Kung-Fu Master" Canseco will fight ex NFL migty mite Vai Sikahema on July 12. He had issued a $5,000 open challenge to all ex-professional athletes some time ago. He turned down Lyndon Byers who used to bang for the Bruins.

Depite the height and weight disparity I hope Sikahema kicks his ass.

Sikahema, 45, was a return specialist with the Cardinals, Packers and Eagles and is now the sports director of NBC's Philadelphia affiliate. He had a reputation for shadow-boxing the goal post after big plays, so he has experience dealing with Canseco's type of mobility. But shouldn't one's dignity come with a price tag of at least five figures?

Byers would have pummeled him. He had some plans to train with Mickey Ward for a few weeks.

I met Mr. Byers working the door at a place in Salem back in 1999. He promised to beat me like drum if he ever saw me again.

He was drunk, obnoxious and tried to jump the line waiting to get in. After all he is an Bruins alumni and at the time a part owner of a place across the street. I wouldn't let him do it and that pissed him off greatly. He got so close in my face I could smell his breath.

Two days later on WEEI he badmouthed me and the place I worked for so I called in and gave it back to him.
