Kasey Kahne comes back down pit road to get left-side tires. His crew had originally planned for four, but switched to two tires at the last second. However, the crew had removed lug nuts from the left wheels, so Kahne had to come back in to complete the service.

YELLOW FLAG NO. 5: Turn 1 collects Patrick Carpentier and Sam Hornish Jr. again. The two went into the corner side-by-side with Carpentier on the inside. He got loose and slapped Hornish. David Gilliland spins as well.

YELLOW FLAG NO. 6: Clint Bowyer crashes hard on the frontstretch and collects Juan Montoya as well. Bowyer's car comes to a rest on the inside wall. Montoya drives his car to the end of pit road with the rear end on fire. He gets out and is OK.
