Marc Crawford was fired as coach of the The Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday after his team finished with the fewest points in the Western Conference this season. He spent two seasons with the team and had a year left on his contract. Kings president and general manager Dean Lombardi said the team appreciated Crawford's commitment.

Great team for Tortorella to take over.

That could be possible. The Kings HAVE to have someone in mind if they are going to just fire Crawford like that. He was working with a team filled with kids, not much of a chance really. But i tell you what, the Kings are going to be very good in the future.

Exactly. Pretty much a re-do of what he did in Tampa.

Interesting....

Kopitar = Lacavalier
Brown = St. Louis
O'Sullivan = Richards
Frolov = Modin
Cammaleri = Fedotendo

Just similar i mean, not exactly equal comparing current Kings to the 2003/2004 Bolts.

Bolts just had better defense and goaltending at that point than the Kings do now.

I thought we'd see the Kings make some serious strides last season but the didn't...they can't be far off from being a pretty good team...sooner rather than later for them and their youth.

The Kings defense was HORRIBLE. Stuart, Pressing and Blake were supposed to be their top guys on the blue line and they played like shit. Visnovsky (sp probably) was the only one that lived up to expectations.

I also thought they'd be close to battling for the playoffs... not.even.close.

I think Torts would whip them into shape plus they have some good young D men coming up. May need a FA goalie though.

Yes, at least til their contracts run out with their current teams. Unless their current teams cut them.
