But it was all according to plan, said EliteXC officials, who confirmed that both parties had agreed prior to weigh-ins that they would fight at a catch-weight of 168 pounds. It was not made clear if both competitors were off-track to making weight at the time of the agreement.
Diaz weighed in at 169.5 pounds for a bout that was originally scheduled for 160 pounds. His opponent, Muhsin Corbbrey (Pictures), weighed in at 163.5 pounds.

Yeah, Diaz was 10 pounds over right before the weigh in, so Cobbrey had to agree to it, or they would not have fought. And Cobbrey wouldn't have been paid or had the chance to knock off a big name. Being only 163 shows he was at weight but ate something before getting on the scale.

i totally agree...i thought that if a fighter doesn't make weight that he gives a % of his purse to the other fighter

Thats what they do in the UFC... no clue what Shaw and EliteXC does. That organization is boarderline WWE.
