Obama's Second Amendment Stance

Hey I need some help here. I am trying to find out about Obama's second amendment stance. I totally back the right to bare arms and wanted to see if some of you would read the attached PDF ( I received this from someone in my family)

I tried to find some information on Obama's website but could not

Any help would be apprecaited!

I am not saying that I believe this article, I just want to do my homework and could use a little guidance on where to look or so homework help

I'll say this much, if this article is true then it makes me want to vote for Obama even more. The 2nd Amendment is the most arcane and useless law on the books. It has done nothing to help this country and quite a bit to hurt it. I despise guns and hope that something can be done to get the gun lobby out of Washington and any non-hunting guns (handguns, automatic weapons, etc) out of stores and the streets, and anywhere else that criminals would have access to them.

I'll see if I can check Obama's website, but i'm sure the dude that wrote this article has included many false and misleading statements .

From what I can see Obama hasn't said a whole lot. He does support the right to bear arms and also common sense restrictions on registration issues and the type of guns that should be available. Nothing out of the ordinary that I can see.

Well Andy you have that right to despise guns and there is nothing wrong with that. I, for one am, are for them and have the right to defend my family (reason I live in Texas, lol). There is nothing wrong with owning a firearm, as long as you (the person) know how to use it. To me, saying that the 2nd Amendment is useless, is a little harsh, the same I could say for the right to free speech (which the media uses to protect everything they say all the time). The number of people that own handguns and know how to use them far outweighs the number of people that use them for bad things. Even if you ban handguns and other types of weapons, the bad guys are still going to get their hands on them, no matter what - that happens today.

I have two .45's and an M-4 rifle and a concealed handgun permit here in Texas. I don't carry my weapon at all times, but a fair amount of the time. It is my right to do so, but I am safe with them at all times. I TOTALLY support Obama, but I cannot on his stance (if the article is true and why I have asked for help in researching this) on gun rights and activists. I mean if he bands handguns and assalt rifles, then he would have to ban all weapons in my opinion, because hunting rifles and shotguns can kill a person too

Can you link me to where on his site you found that? or another site?

I just googled "Obama 2nd ammendment"
Mostly anti-Obama stuff though.
I couldn't find anything on his website.

No words, no matter how mean and spiteful, have ever killed anyone. Guns were made for that express purpose, to kill. They are not made for sport, recreation, or protection. They are made to kill.

Anyway, I would imagine that if you looked at Obama's voting record you could see where he stands on gun related issues. The voting record for Senators is public record but I don't know where you would find that.

If the made handguns and assualt rifles illegal then they would remain in the hands of criminals and registered gun owners. I really dont see how logically this could happen, too any criminals have guns in this country.

Obama is not going to take a public stance on this until he has to and then it will be worded very well so as not to come down firmly one side or another.

I am a second amendment guy but and this is a big but, there needs to some thought given by the NRA crowd as to how best to sensibly look at the whole issue. I know guys with Class III licenses and some of the firepower that they have is truly terrifying.

Anyone who wants my guns is welcome to them. Bring your brother and pack a lunch.

So you are saying that you are wanting to give away your guns!!

I do back legislation that supports more thorough gun checks and background checks.

I do have a problem with Obama, if he supports a national right to carry ban
