Panthers deal captain Jokinen to Coyotes (AP)
The Florida Panthers traded captain Olli Jokinen to the Phoenix Coyotes for defensemen Nick Boynton and Keith Ballard and a second-round pick on Friday night during the NHL draft. In Jokinen, the Coyotes get a top forward who has scored at least 70 points in each of the last three seasons. The Finnish star had his best season in 2006-07, when he scored 39 goals and added 52 assists in 82 games.

Pretty good move for both teams. Its been pretty known that Jokinen hasn't been happy for a while now in Florida. Ballard is a GOOD young D-man with lots of potential, going to make their defense even better adding him with Bowmeister (sp?). And i'm not giving up on Boynton just yet, the dude was a stud in Boston before sent to Phoenix.

However, not sure what Phoenix is going to do on defense, they could give up a ton of goals.

I can't imagine he's happy about this at all. Florida probably saw 1 good dman, and a former all-star D-man being offered and thought it would be good to get those two and send his ass to Phoenix.

Yeah really, his attitude was horrible last year, I can't imagine its suddenly going to get better. There were Flyers rumors out there for this dude... how legit? I don't know. But either way, he's not the right type of player for us.

In other Phoenix news... it looks like they picked their draft picks by last names. lol, took the 4th and final Staal brother (Jared) in the 2nd round and Ron Hextalls son (Brett) in the 6th round.

I think this team thinks more about name recognition to translate into ticket sales more than building a winning team.

It has nothing to do with how much a player makes. You want to win whether you are making $1 or $6million. However, you never have a shitty attitude towards your team reguardless of how much you make... thats only going to hurt your chances to win.
