A sad day for CF.

Utah - Pitt??? a joke of a game.

utah wins people still won't give them respect cause an 8-3 team DOES NOT deserve to play in a BCS bowl game.

Michigan - Texas?? Rose Bowl?? not worth watching now.

Auburn - VT?? great matchup of 2 of the best defenses in the nation.

USC - Oklahoma?? great matchup but Oklahoma wins because officials say so.

Cal left out to play a lowly Texas Tech team.. pathetic.

BSU left out cause they don't play in a major conference pathetic.

a sad day

So 4 undefeated could be left at the end of the season...pathetic...

BCS is worse than the shit that comes out of Bin Laden's ass.

Are you kidding me, two of the most storied programs in college football history, a great freshman running back for Michigan against the Butkus and Lombardi finalist in DJ and the 5th leading rusher in NCAA history going up against that Michigan D, sounds like a heck of a matchup to me. It's unfortunate that without playoff they keep conference ties in these bowl games at all, becaus the only way it could be better would be to pair Auburn against Texas and Cal against Utah and get a better picture of who deserves to be where in the final rankings........

Texas doesn't deserve to be in there.. but maybe it will be a closer game then if it was CAl because i think Cal would beat michigan with not a whole lot of a problem. IMO

This is the exact reason I was pissed that Cal didn't get in the Rose Bowl (being a Michigan fan). I fully believe that Michigan would beat Cal. I mean, come on, who did Cal beat? Oregon by 1? Oregon St, Arizona, UCLA, Stanford, Washington, Arizona St... ONE (1) of those teams is more than 1 game over .500.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that Cal isn't a good team, they did play close with USC. But Michigan had 2 loses to bitter rivals (everyone happens to falter once and a while vs. rivals). Not to mention they lost to ND the second game of the year with a true freshman QB in his 2nd ever college game... and didn't have their starting RB (Hart).

NO WAY would this have been an easy game for Cal. IMO Texas is the better team.

Rght, Texass couldn't even score against their rival and needed the refs to beat high-powered Kansas and pure luck to beat that offensive juggernaut in Arkansas.

Unfortunately, the shorthorns will beat Michigan thereby validating all the Texass homers who think they deserved to be there.

Hey Cal could be better than Texas... thats why I said it was just my opinion. I honestly have not seen alot of either team, but from the games i have watched I think Texas is better. And everyone only looks at Texas not being able to score vs. Oklahoma... how about looking at it as they held the #2 team in the nation to 12 points... by FAR the lowest of the year. But I guess that wouldn't help the arguement of the Texas hater huh?

No, it really would not. Texass has had a reputation of being underachieving whiners for quite some time. This year has been no different. All Cryin' Mack needed was a couple more votes; who in the Big XII wouldn't have done that to secure more prestige and money for the conference? BTW, who voted Texass #2 in the polls?

LOL, call them underachievers all you want. The fact is they held one of the best teams in college football to 12 points, and their ONLY loss of the year was to the 2nd ranked team in the nation.

I was not aware anyone voted Texas #2 in any polls.

Why is Texas less deserving that Cal??
1.Got lucky against Arkansas(read Matt Jones was stripped of the football at his 12 yard line inside of field goal range with 3 minutes on the clock in a 2 point ball game at Arkansas)
Lets see didn't Cal get a little lucky when leading Oregon by 1 point with less than 2 minutes on the clock when the Oregon reciever dropped a pass on the 17 yard line without a defender in the picture
2.Got shutout by OU(True but as Btown said we also held OU to 12 points, and were it not for a fumble on their 12 yard line and a couple of third down sacks in the red zone???)
Meanwhile Cal, lost by 6 to USC(1st and goal at the 9 to win the ball game in the final minutes????) Didn't get the job done and neither did Texas, in the end both teams lost to a pair of pretty damn good teams
3. Got 'officiating' help against Kansas and snuck out of there(the play in question was an offensive pass interference call against Kansas, the receiver clearly extended both arms into the DB and knocked him sideways before making what would have been a critical first down....meanwhile go back and review the game film, Kansas was awarded a 45 yard catch on an obvious no catch, there were numerous other plays where blatant bad calls affected both teams but if you could go back and just change the last call which was correct in the first place, and in the end all Kansas had to do was stop a 4th and 22 to win the game and they couldn't get it done)
Meanwhile Cal gave up a touchdown for Southern Miss to pull to within 1 point, the extra point was blocked and Cal returned it for 2 with 5 minutes left in the ball game. On the ensuing series a clearly deflated Southern Miss d gave up a quick touchdown and that was all she wrote.

Seems to me both teams have a fair number of close calls and are pretty similiar in their struggles....now look at the wins

UT has beaten 3 of the BCS top 25, Tech, OSU, and A&M, Cal only 1 in Arizona State

Neither team deserves to be left out, but to say Texas doesn't deserve to be there is just an uninformed opinion intended to continue your pre stated bias towards the Longhorns. This group of 'Underachievers' are the only team to be ranked in the BCS top 15 every year since it's inception without attending a BCS game. These underachievers have lost games to OU 5 times, (a pretty bad program I guess if we are underachievers), Arkansas (1) , Tech(1), Colorado (1) and Washington State(1)over the past 5 seasons, that leaves a record of aprox. 50 - 9 over the past 5 years(assuming 12 games a season) with a 3 - 1 bowl record. Now thats some underachieving that anyone not named Original Bob on this board would wish upon his program.

Wow... a couple of facts there. But overall (as i have stated before) I agree with you. There are just too many Texas haters here to look at it objectively.

However, Michigan is going to beat them in the Rose Bowl! (I have to stick by my team)
