Caps re-sign D Green for 4 years, $21M (AP)
The Washington Capitals re-signed defenseman Mike Green to a four-year, $21 million contract Tuesday. Green, 22, led the NHL in goals among defensemen with 18 goals last season, his second full season in the league. He was one of four Capitals to play in every game and led the team in ice time. His 56 points ranked seventh in the NHL among defensemen.
