Davis is or has already signed with the LA Clippers. WTF was Mullen thinking!!

He could have played for the final year of his contract and the Warriors would have probably gave him a contract that he deserved

Yeah really, he could have opted out and then resigned with them to a new deal, he clearly didn't want to be there.

Yeah I can see your point, but Mullen did not even try and match the offer. I know it was Davis's choice, but if he had some sort of deal that was close to the offer by the Clippers, I believe he would have stayed in Oakland

He really took a $4mil pay cut???

lol, Meik, sounds like the Warriors could have offered him the team and he'd still leave.

well its speculation right now cause they can't sign a deal till july 9th but

"Though Davis refused to directly confirm his agent’s declaration to The Los Angeles Times that they have agreed to sign a five-year, $65 million deal with Golden State’s Pacific Division rivals,"

"On Monday, Davis surprised the league by opting out of the final year of his long-term contract, turning down $17.8 million for next season to become an unrestricted free agent."

Now this is classic! The Warriors have made an offer to Elton Brand for $ 15 - 20 million more than the Clippers have. Brand has stated that he became a free agent so the Clippers could sign Davis and then he would resign for something less, but then the warriors threw this deal together. He immediately flew out to the east coast to meet with his agent, he said that he has to REALLY consider the Warriors offer.

Now wouldn't that be ironic if the warriors could get the clippers best player and finally a big man that could go against the likes of Boozer and others that have killed them in the past

So Davis goes home to LA and it looks as if the Clippers were going to resign Brand and possibly even Maggette would stay. That would have made the clippers instant competitors out west

Now Brand is going to Philly and Maggette is going to the Warriors

Hmmmm, I really think that this came down to Baron being home sick

I do wish him the best of luck though and will always root for him
