College Sports This forum is about some weird social strata involving brow-beating, bragging, one-upsmanship and self-proclaimed superiority. Not necessarily involving athletics.

Recruits Continue to Roll In For Huskers

To even further solidify their hold on the #1 recruiting class for the 2005 season, the Huskers over the weekend, landed commitments from three highly regarded JC players. The most coveted of the three was 4 star LB Steve Octavian,a sure starter right out of the gate. Also committing were 3 star JC QB Zac Taylor and 3 star 6'6" 320 pound OL Marcus Gordon. That brings to 24 the total number of recruits and their not finished yet. It's also anticipated that During the Army All-American game, the Huskers will get commitments from either the #4 ranked DB Reggie Smith from Oklahoma or #7 ranked DB in the country,Meyer-White out of North Carolina I believe and the #14 rivals ranked player in the country,wr Boateng out of NY.The 2005 Husker season will be an acclimation period for all the young kids and beginning in 2006 will be the year that the Huskers reclaim their status as one of the elite collegiate football programs in the country and once again in contention for more NC crowns. //party GO BIG RED.

Recruits very seldom back out of their commitments to NU and so I predict that NU and Callahan will sign all of it's committed players and he'll coach them back to the lofty standards that we enjoyed before that fuckin midget Solich ruined the whole program. If I were you Bob,rather than worry about whether or not Callahan can coach our #1 recruiting class, you'd probably be better off worrying about how Stoops is going to coach a pretty much bare cupboard after all those fifth and sixth year seniors are all gone next year.

Don't worry Raider, as it's been said "OU just reloads", there's plenty of players left for next year. Believe me. As a matter of fact, the preseason all american defensive tackle's, Dvoracek, request for another year has been approved by the NCAA to play next year.
Stoops is a proven winner that recruits want to play for. Can't say the same for the bimbo at NU... Good luck and check your facts before talking shit. BOB

Dude, the facts are that OU is losing half it's fuckin team of fifth, sixth and seventh year seniors and that's a real fact.Maybe if OU and Stoops request it,maybe the NCAA might let some of those 25 year olds play another year because reloading with Peterson and that 25 year old Davorachek isn't going to get you back to the NC game.
When Callahan has coached at NU as long as Stoops has coached at OU,you'll then be able to judge whether or not he can coach and based on the caliber of recruits that are coming to NU,they must think and/or feel that he can coach because they sure as hell didn't choose to go to OU and about three or four of them are from Oklahoma.

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!

Where's all the posters, now that Nebraska's not the #1 team in recruit committments anymore????
OU is now it..... As I said all along, it's not the quality of the recruit, but what you do with him once he's in your program.
So being #1 or #10 is not the final answer !!!//kneelbef
