.......so how good is Illinois...???
I'm currently watching Wake Forest lead UNC by 17 points. A UNC team that is quite simply awesome to see, on many occaisions. A Wake Forest team, in turn, that was ranked #1.....until the Illini absolutely crushed them. What does this say about the Big Ten's current king team?

Illinois was hotter than they've been all season at home and Wake was a little off.

Maybe. The Illini are 18-0, however, for the first time in history.

We wont know until.......
until Illinois plays at Wisconsin....that'll be a tough test, theyve enjoyed homecooking against the only decent teams they played, at Iowa will also be a test later. I agree Wake is better than what they played against Illinois, and UNC is better than they played against Wake Saturday.
Looks like we are almost done xposing teams that are overrated, UK has been shown to be good, but too young still......UC, well theyve just been exposed, Wakes' shaky D and shooting, UNCs inconsistant D, GTech (while I know some is because of Elder) all around inconsistency especially on D, Duke is next, maybe with Maryland, but since that will be at Cameron......Im thinking 0-3 in the Wake, Tech, UNC stretch. they might sneak up and get Tech. ![]() |

I've seen Illinois play in person and they will be a force come March. They play such tough D and they are so unselfish. Will they lose? Probably. But they will be in St. Louis

For those people who haven't had a good look at Illinois thus far they will be on tv tonight at 7 eastern vs. #23 Iowa on ESPN. I haven't really had the chance to see much of them myself, so i am excited about seeing this game. |

I watched Point Pleasant on Fox last night.Sort of like a Steven King version of the OC. I think it's on again tonight after the OC. |

Well... Illinois showed they are definitly beatable. What an exciting finish last night. When you get to the free throw line almost 20 times more than the other team... its hard to lose. Iowa looked much better than they did early in the season, and showed they are a team that has potential to make some noise. Iowa needs to step up quickly however, being 1-3 in conference and losses to Mich and OSU will hurt them.
Maybe ESPN will finally stop showing Marquette games. Marquette lost to Depaul last night, and will probably finally drop out of the top 25. With that, i'm also hoping to stop seeing them on tv. San Francisco?? Are you kidding me? The Zags are impossible to figure out. They have good wins vs. Washington, Georgia Tech and Okla St.... but then go and lose to Mizzu, St. Mary's, and now San Fran. |
