College Sports This forum is about some weird social strata involving brow-beating, bragging, one-upsmanship and self-proclaimed superiority. Not necessarily involving athletics.

Vols Win Overtime Over Florida, 83-76

Scooter McFadgon scored 23 points, including the final five in overtime, to lead Tennessee to a 83-76 victory over Florida on Wednesday night. Chris Lofton hit six 3-pointers and added 22 points for the Volunteers, who handed the Gators their first Southeastern Conference loss.

The game wasn't televised in my area, so i didn't get to see it. But that is a pretty good win for the Vols. Who knows, maybe they can make some noise in the NIT this year?

For your sake I hope so... but lets not hold our breath. I think doing well in the NIT is a realistic goal. At 10-7 with a very tough SEC schedule coming up, i think it may be a long shot to get into the NCAA tourney. But who knows, Sat. they play Louisville and Tues. they play UK. Two wins there (lol), and they have a good shot.

Rock is an unknown quantity at this point
Never underestimate Buzz!!! I read a story in SI this week that said he made them practice in their own clothes and do their own laundry for the week before the Miss State game because of their poor effort before that. It looks like he got their attention. I don't know alot of y'alls players but in Maui I was impressed with the athleticism, if Buzz can get them playing under control then y'all do have some potential. That's allready a couple of huge wins, a game over .500 in the SEC, plus 1 win in the conference tourney should get you to the big dance...........

I will agree with you that they can make it to the dance IF they have turned some things around. The team that lost to Chatanooga, New mexico, Vandy and South Carolina can not be seen again. The Vols would have to step up big down the stretch vs. good SEC opponents. I'm rooting for them to get in, and we shall see if the did "right the ship".
