Great post. It is impressive as hell. I think it's good he is still in school and should finish. He can't box forever and lets face it he doesn't seem to be a greedy bastard like the majority of his sports counterparts.

Damn it's like he is fighting an old man comparativley tonight. The lightweight division are som small guys damn.

Jays ever seen any of his fights?

Yep, i watched his last fight vs. Julian Lorcy in November. It was also on friday night fights. Hell, i belive I still have it on tape.

Interesting side not... Juan has a younger brother Jose, 19 (turned 19 6 days ago), who is 5-0 as a pro. Jose is also attending the University of Houston. Seems like he picked a good role model to follow. They must have very good parents. He is also fighting tonight.

Definitly! If we go to Jeff's we will just make sure we put it on. It really is a good story, and he is a pretty exciting fighter to watch. He isn't one of those dance around and throw 10 punches a round fighters... the guy gets into the ring and bangs.

Well, Juan Diaz DESTROYED Billy Irwin. Irwin pretty much looked defenseless vs. the much younger Diaz. Diaz put Irwin down in the 2nd, and TKO'd him in the 9th.

Diaz's next fight will be on April 23rd on ESPN again. This card will be amazing. Juan Diaz will be fighting a fighter TBD in the undercard, and the main event will be between Kermit Cintron and Antonio Margarito. Cintron is the #3 ranked Welterweight with a record of (24-0, 22Ko's) and Margarito is the #6 ranked welterweight with a record of (30-4, 21 KO's). WTG ESPN for making the big fights. This card is on my schedule!!! //party

You gotta hate Irwin after the fight too. Using excuses to cover up for the fact that he was basically a standing heavy bag in the ring. Claiming to be sick and all that none sense. I respect fighters more when they can admit defeat, give a little props to the winner, or not make lame ass excuses.

Should be a good night of boxing....too bad its like 3 months away man lol!

LOL, yes, what a bitch he was after the fight. I don't care if Irwin was 120% healthy with a baseball bat, he was not winning that fight. I think he would be more concerned with bitching about how ugly his retarded ass is. Ah, but we will have some good boxing coming up before that. Auturo Gatti is fighting saturday!!!
