Giants could go 7-0 before they play somebody real - October 1st, 2008
The NFL season is four weeks in and the East Coast has seen it share of ups and downs. The AFC went from a competition for second best to a mad dash for a spot in the Super Bowl with Tom Brady’s season-ending injury. I felt kind of bad, but then remembered that my brother had him on his fantasy team. I immediately called and laughed at him.

The Giants are freaking 3-0. The first win against the Redskins was a gritty game and a good win, but the record seems inflated because of a blowout win against the Rams. Really wouldn’t the front office be doing the NFL and their fans a favor and just move the franchise over to the Arena Football League. The team is built to run quick plays on turf and not play defense or block, sounds like an Arena League team to me.

It will be a while until New York Giants tickets are going to be available for any kind of a test. The next real game is against the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys games have been fun to watch with that explosive offense and that will be the first team the Giants defense will meet that can actually score points. Talk all you want about the Steelers, but no line and no running game means I benched Roethlisberger.

I am very impressed with the defense. The Cincinnati Bengals game in week three went to overtime before New York could pull out a win, but that might just have been the last grasp Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson had at respectability for the season. Otherwise, that four man rush has killed quarterbacks. Is it for real or is an easy early schedule? I do not know, but you have to beat the opponents you have.

The New York Jets are going to be breaking hearts this season. One week Favre will throw the ball all over the field with pin point accuracy and the next he will look like a man who should have stayed retired to save his legacy. The Jets schedule is going to put fans in a bi-polar state for the rest of the season. I predict the Jets playoff hopes will come down to the Week 17 match up against the Miami Dolphins and the team will lose, Favre will retire…again, and hundreds of thousands of Jets fans will commit suicide when they realize they have to listen to Giants fans talk about the postseason or watch the New York Knicks.
