The University of Tennessee Volunteers did announce the hiring of Bruce Pearl from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as their new Head basketball coach. From indications we in Rocky Top are seeing, reading, and hearing this is indeed the right choice. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, that is yet to be seen! However, from what we have come to know about Coach Pearl in the last two days is that at least someone at UT is trying to make a winner out of Ol' Smokey.
In a borrowed orange tie, Coach Pearl addressed the local media and players, along with the "high" dollar boosters and excited the crowd.
"Up beat and Up Tempo" is what he said was coming to Thompson-Boling Arena, a 20,000 plus seat arena that is hardly ever filled unless the Lady Vols are hosting another top 25 team. (Example Pat Summit's 880th win).
