Enough is enough dammit!
Pete Rose is the all time hits leader in Major League Baseball. Pete Rose committed an act that is against baseball rules, by betting on baseball games while he was apart of the Cincinnati Reds organization.
In February 1989 reports started to circulate that Rose had gambled on baseball games, even on his own team - only to win those games. Rose came out a month later and stated that he had never bet on baseball, a straight out lie.
On August 24, 1989 Pete Rose was officially banned from baseball for life with the chance to apply for reinstatement after a year's time. He has done so, year after year and every baseball fan in America has said enough is enough. In 1997 Rose again filed for reinstatement and Bud Selig did nothing, he did not even respond to Rose, standing firm on the rules of baseball, just like President Bush's stance on the Iraqi conflict; "stay the course".
Pete Rose has served a 17 year ban from baseball, time in a federal prison in Illinois, and paid numerous fines. I am a firm believer that he needs to be given a second chance to be a part of baseball. Does anyone disagree with me, if you do, then well, that is your belief, but this is my article and I am totally aloud to state my feelings. If you know the sport or have followed it for any amount of time, then there should be no doubt in your mind that Rose needs to be forgiven.
If you were to ask any baseball player, no matter what their playing status is, they all say the same thing. They will or have all stated that Rose deserves a second chance and that he totally deserves to be in the hall of fame.
I watched Rose play when he was in his lime light and it was amazing to watch this man play the game of baseball. He was the dictionary definition of True Grit. He played the game with such a tremendous ability and loved the game everyday of his life.
Pete Rose is a baseball legend! Sure the man made a mistake, but I believe that he has served his time, too long in my opinion! Baseball needs to allow Rose to be reinstated and not in a few months, Now!!! The baseball commissioner needs to read this article and take it whole heartedly, he needs to rethink his stance on this situation and give in. Pete Rose needs to come back to baseball. Pete Rose needs to be in Cooperstown, no he DESERVES to be in Cooperstown!
