Screw Curt Schilling - May 9th, 2007
Everyone here at the Rant knows that I back Barry Bonds because I am a San Francisco Giants fan. I also believe in the American justice system and that someone is innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around as most Americans do. Again do I believe that he knowingly took steroids, yes I do. Once again that is my belief but he has never been found guilty or never admitted to it.

Now Curt Schilling goes public with his feelings on the matter. Schilling was asked about Barry Bonds and the home run record on WEEI radio in Boston and I quote:

"I mean, he admitted that he used steroids," Schilling said during his weekly appearance on sports radio WEEI's "Dennis and Callahan" show. "I mean, there's no gray area. He admitted to cheating on his wife, cheating on his taxes, and cheating on the game, so I think the reaction around the league, the game, being what it is, in the case of what people think. Hank Aaron not being there. The commissioner [Bud Selig] trying to figure out where to be. It's sad."

"And I don't care that he's black, or green, or purple, or yellow, or whatever. It's unfortunate … there's good people and bad people. It's unfortunate that it's happening the way it's happening."

Barry has done no such thing, Schilling is completely wrong. Bonds never once admitted to taking steroids, cheating on his taxes, his wife, or cheating on the game (first time I have ever heard this). Just because Schilling is one of the top pitchers in the game and is always in the lime light, he has no right to make such statements unless he backs them with FACTS. This disturbs me when people do things such as this in the media because as Americans, most of us anyway, tend to believe what they read in the papers or hear on TV or the radio.

So Screw Curt Schilling and his statement, he owes Barry Bonds a public apology in my opinion. I am sure that I will get bashed for writing such a statement and that many people will think or agree with Schilling, but again, it is a FACT that Bonds made no such admissions. Just remember that we, as Americans, are innocent until proven guilty.
